Manipur Security Forces Seize Drugs and Arms in Churachandpur, Chandel

Manipur Police and security forces conducted three separate operations between April 20–24, 2026, arresting four individuals and recovering raw opium, heroin, arms, and communication equipment across Churachandpur and Chandel districts.

Heroin Seized in Churachandpur

IMPHAL – Security forces in Manipur carried out three anti-narcotics and arms recovery operations between April 20 and 24, 2026, resulting in multiple arrests and significant seizures of drugs and weapons across Churachandpur and Chandel districts.

On April 20, 2026, Manipur Police arrested Samuel Guite (28), a resident of Saidan Village under Churachandpur Police Station, Churachandpur district, from his residence. The following items were recovered from his possession:

         12 bags containing suspected raw opium weighing 11.7 kg

         One mobile handset

         One digital weighing machine

Heroin and Vehicle Recovered, Three Arrested — April 23

On April 23, 2026, security forces arrested three individuals from Bolkot under Singngat Police Station, Churachandpur district: Nengmuanlal and Ginlamthang Guite, both of M Buangmun Village, Singngat, and Hangkhanlian of Chakarpur, Gurgaon, Haryana. The following were seized from their possession:

         474 soap cases of heroin weighing approximately 5.43 kg

         One four-wheeler vehicle

Arms and Communication Equipment Recovered in Chandel — April 24

On April 24, 2026, security forces recovered a cache of weapons and communication equipment from the general area of Khumkot Village under Molcham Police Station, Chandel district. The recovered items included:

         Four single-bore rifles

         Four Pompis and seven Pompi shells

         Three grenades and one detonator

         Five Baofeng radio sets with five chargers
