by NE Dispatch - May 05, 2026 05:49 PM

Government-sponsored 75-day aviation and hospitality skilling programme offers free training, boarding and residential costs for IDP candidates — last date to apply: 14th May, 2026

Cabin Crew & Hospitality Course

The Government of Manipur, through the Directorate of Tourism, is organising 4th batch of Cabin Crew and Hospitality Sector Training Programme in partnership with M/s Primero Skill and Training Pvt. Ltd. — a private training partner empanelled for the initiative. The programme is designed to equip young people from Imphal West District with industry-ready skills for careers in India's rapidly growing aviation and hospitality sectors.

India's civil aviation sector is experiencing one of its fastest expansions in history, with domestic air passenger traffic consistently breaking records. Simultaneously, the hospitality industry — spanning hotels, resorts, and tourism services — faces a significant skilled workforce deficit. Programmes like this one aim to bridge that gap by creating a pipeline of trained, certified professionals from underserved regions like Manipur.

Career Outlook: Why This Matters for Manipur Youth

For a young person in Imphal West, the aviation and hospitality sectors represent a passport to well-paying, professionally structured careers that have historically been concentrated in metropolitan India. A government-funded residential training programme in New Delhi — covering accommodation, boarding, and instruction — eliminates the financial barriers that ordinarily prevent talented youth from smaller states from accessing such opportunities.

The cabin crew profession offers starting salaries typically ranging from ?25,000 to ?60,000 per month with major domestic carriers, with significant growth potential. Beyond the salary, the role provides exposure to national and international travel, professional development, and a network across the aviation industry.

The hospitality sector is similarly dynamic. India's tourism industry is targeting 100 million international tourist arrivals by 2030, and the hospitality workforce gap is estimated in the hundreds of thousands. Trained graduates from programmes like this one are likely to find employment relatively quickly, particularly as Northeastern candidates bring linguistic diversity and cultural adaptability.

75 days of fully funded, residential, professional skills training in India's capital city — with government support for IDP candidates' travel — is a rare and significant opportunity for young people in Imphal West. The window is narrow: applications close on 14th May, 2026.
