The Government of Manipur has partnered with HCL Tech to offer the TechBee early career program for Class XII graduates, providing one year of IT training, a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000, and a guaranteed full-time job at HCLTech upon completion.
The Government of Manipur has taken a significant step towards building a skilled workforce in the state by selecting HCL Tech (Hindustan Computer Limited) as its official partner to deliver a job-oriented early career programme in the information technology sector. The initiative is aimed at Class XII completed students who wish to enter the technology industry without waiting years for a conventional degree.
A public notice issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West District, dated May 2, 2026, formally announced the programme and invited eligible students to register and attend a counselling-cum-examination session.
TechBee is HCL Tech's flagship early career programme designed to bridge the gap between school education and industry employment. The programme provides a structured one-year training in the fundamentals of information technology, following an 'earn while you learn' model that allows students to receive a monthly stipend while simultaneously pursuing higher education through partner institutions.
Upon successful completion of the 12-month training, participants are guaranteed full-time employment with HCLTech, making it one of the few programmes in the country that offers both professional training and immediate job placement directly after Class XII.
The TechBee programme spans 12 months and is structured as a hybrid training model. Key features of the programme include:
• Duration: 12-month hybrid training comprising six to nine months of classroom learning followed by three to six months of on-the-job internship at HCLTech facilities.
• Stipend: Participants receive a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 throughout the 12-month training period.
• Job Guarantee: Upon successful completion, students are assured full-time IT roles at HCLTech, with a starting annual salary ranging from Rs 1.70 lakh to Rs 2.20 lakh.
• Higher Education: Students can concurrently pursue degree programmes such as BCA, B.Sc., and B.Tech from prestigious partner institutions including BITS Pilani, IIT Guwahati, and SASTRA University.
• Fee Waiver: Students who score above 90 per cent in their training receive a 100 per cent programme fee waiver, while those scoring between 85 and 90 per cent receive a 50 per cent waiver.
The programme is open to students who have completed Class XII in 2025 or 2026. The specific eligibility requirements are as follows:
• Students who completed Class XII under the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur must have an overall score of 65 per cent or more.
• Students who appeared under CBSE or ISC boards must have scored an overall 70 per cent or more.
• For IT roles, candidates must have scored 70 per cent or more in Mathematics or Business Mathematics in Class XII.
• Candidates who did not study Mathematics are still eligible for Associate (non-IT) roles within the programme.
The selection process for TechBee consists of multiple stages:
1. Application: Candidates must register on the official HCL TechBee website at www.hcltechbee.com.
2. HCL CAT Test: An online assessment evaluating logical and technical aptitude. Candidates with an 80 or higher percentile in JEE Mains are exempted from this test.
3. Versant Test: A communication skills assessment.
4. Interview: The final stage of the selection process.
As part of the Manipur rollout, a Counselling-cum-Examination for the TechBee Training Programme will be held on May 5, 2026, at the IT Centre, Imphal West DC Office Complex, Lamphel, beginning at 11:00 AM.
