Candidates must meet the following educational requirements based on the post they are applying for under the UPSC 2026 recruitment notification:
Medical Teaching Posts (Posts 1–4)
• Candidates must hold an MBBS degree along with a postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty (DM or M.Ch), supported by a minimum of three years of teaching experience in the respective medical discipline.
Engineering & Technical Posts (Posts 5, 8, 9)
• A Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant engineering discipline — Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Electronics/Telecommunication Engineering — is the minimum required qualification.
Administrative & Research Posts (Posts 6, 7, 10)
• Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in the applicable subject, such as Hindi, Commerce, or a Foreign Language, with demonstrated experience in research, accounts, or translation work.
The UPSC Advt. 04/2026 specifies an age limit generally ranging between 30 and 40 years, with post-specific variations:
• Assistant Professors (Posts 1–4): Upper age limit is 40 years.
• Assistant Mining Engineer (Post 5): Upper age limit is 30 years.
All posts under UPSC Recruitment 2026 are governed by the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC) Pay Matrix. The pay levels range from Level 7 to Level 11, commensurate with the seniority and responsibility of each position.

The UPSC 2026 selection process for Advt. No. 04/2026 will follow a three-stage methodology:
1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic qualifications and relevant work experience as declared in the application.
2. Recruitment Test (RT): A written Recruitment Test may be conducted at the discretion of UPSC if the volume of eligible applications is exceptionally high.
3. Interview / Personality Test: The final stage carries 100 marks and is the decisive round for selection. Performance in the interview determines the final merit ranking of candidates.
