The award was presented at a function held at the City Convention Centre, Konung Mamang, Imphal, in recognition of Dr. Singh’s contributions towards environmental sustainability through the adoption of innovative and environmentally responsible practices in the healthcare and hospitality sectors. He received the honour under the category “Green Initiative in Hospitality.”

According to the Certificate of Recognition issued by the Department of Environment and Climate Change, the award acknowledges Dr. Singh’s efforts in promoting environmental sustainability and management in Manipur. The citation noted that the sustainable practices implemented under his leadership have emerged as a commendable model for environmental protection and recognised his continued commitment to excellence in sustainable development.

A noted pathologist and entrepreneur, Dr. Dhabali Singh has been actively promoting environmentally friendly practices across institutions under the BABINA Group. Over the years, the Group has integrated sustainability measures into its operations, focusing on efficient resource management and reducing environmental impact.

Since 2018, several green initiatives have been introduced under his leadership, including the use of renewable energy systems, water conservation mechanisms, scientific waste management practices and source-level waste segregation. These measures have been implemented across both healthcare and hospitality establishments managed by the Group.

Among the key initiatives undertaken are the installation of solar-powered electricity systems and water recycling technologies. According to the Group, these facilities collectively recycle nearly one lakh litres of wastewater while generating a substantial portion of their energy requirements through solar power.

The initiatives are aimed at reducing dependence on conventional energy sources, improving water-use efficiency and promoting responsible waste management. The adoption of these measures reflects a broader commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices.

The Green Entrepreneur Award 2026 was one of several honours presented during the State-level World Environment Day celebration organised by the Department of Environment and Climate Change. Other recognitions conferred during the programme included Appreciation Awards, the Climate Communicator Award 2026 and the Lifetime Achievement Environment Award 2026.

Following the recognition, the BABINA Group expressed gratitude to the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Manipur, for the honour. The Group reiterated its commitment to strengthening sustainable practices across its institutions and contributing to environmental conservation efforts in the state.

The award highlights the growing role of private sector initiatives in supporting environmental sustainability and recognises efforts to integrate green practices into healthcare and hospitality services.
