Churachandpur, June 29: Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Shri Ganesh Nagaranjan, on Monday reviewed the implementation of development projects under the Aspirational District Programme in Churachandpur, with a focus on improving coordination, monitoring and delivery across key sectors.

The review meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall in the Mini Secretariat, where the Deputy Secretary met with Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, district officials and representatives of various line departments to assess progress under the programme.

The discussions focused on 39 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) spread across five thematic areas: Health and Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Water Resources, Financial Inclusion and Skill Development, and Infrastructure.

During the meeting, Ganesh Nagaranjan stressed the importance of timely implementation and directed departments to strengthen inter-departmental coordination to ensure effective execution of development initiatives. He also called for regular monitoring to maintain transparency, meet project timelines and ensure quality outcomes.

The Deputy Secretary instructed officials to identify implementation gaps proactively and resolve them through coordinated efforts. He also heard grievances and suggestions from officials and assured them that genuine concerns would be taken up with the appropriate authorities. Reiterating the government's commitment to the programme, he said the initiative aims to promote holistic development in the identified aspirational blocks.

Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar assured the meeting that the district administration would closely monitor the progress of the Key Performance Indicators. He directed the Project Director of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) to take a more proactive role in the implementation process.

He also emphasised the need to improve data entry and reporting, stating that the district administration would provide full cooperation and deploy available resources to strengthen implementation of the programme.

Later in the day, the Deputy Secretary visited Lamka South to inspect the construction of a specialised health unit for women and children. Lamka South is one of the aspirational blocks that has been recognised for its performance under the programme.

He was accompanied during the inspection by Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mualnuam Thangboi Gangte, SDO/BDO (in-charge) Lamka South Jangminlen Lupho, SDO/BDO Tuibong Jameson Sehlal Hangsing, Project Director DRDA and officials from various line departments.
