Imphal, June 28: The winners of the 10th Nongin Music Video Competition-2025 were honoured on Sunday, with Omchaknare emerging as one of the biggest winners at the award ceremony held at the Multipurpose Auditorium of the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) at Palace Gate, Imphal.

Organised by Film Forum Manipur in collaboration with the Manipur State Film Development Society, the annual awards recognised outstanding achievements in Manipuri music videos across a range of creative and technical categories.

Omchaknare received the Nongin Best Music Video on Native Contents & Cinematic Excellence, one of the competition's highest honours. The music video also secured several individual awards, including Best Singer (Female) for Pushparani Huidrom, Best Lyricist for Prabina Chanu, Best Editor for Ng Ango, Best Costume Designer for Bimol Taorem, and Best Choreographer for Venus Mayfree, making it the most decorated production of the evening.

Another major winner was Hada Lamdam, which dominated the performance categories. Bung Konjengbam was named Nongin Best Director for the music video, while N. Lokeshor won Best Actor (Male) and Manjita received Best Actor (Female) for their performances in the production. London and Hamom Sadananda jointly won Best Singer (Male) for the same music video.

Khannu Yade also featured prominently among the award winners. It received the Nongin Best Music Video on Creative Experimentation award, while Rahul Blue won Best Music Director for the production. Regan Kh. was honoured as Best Cinematographer, and Naoton Longjam received the Best Make-up Artist award. Singer Ngangthoi Ningthoujam was presented the Special Jury Mention Award for the music video.

The Special Mention Award was presented to War on Drug in recognition of its contribution.

The ceremony brought together filmmakers, musicians, artists and members of the film fraternity to celebrate excellence in Manipuri music video production.

Speaking at the event, Art and Culture Minister Khuraijam Loken Singh congratulated the award recipients and said artists have an important role in preserving Manipur's cultural identity and promoting harmony in society.

He said the state government is exploring ways to provide additional financial support for the art and culture sector through a revised budget estimate after no dedicated allocation was made in the initial budget. The proposal, he said, has already been discussed with the Chief Minister.

The Minister also appealed to artists and cultural practitioners to continue working together to strengthen Manipur's rich cultural heritage and contribute towards fostering peace among different communities.

The function was presided over by Film Forum Manipur Interim Chairman N. Surjitkanta (BB Surjit).
