Sanaleipak ‘Ningtambei Mahao’ Wins Best Production at 52nd Shumang Leela Festival

Imphal, June 17: Along with the declaration of results for the male category play competition of the 52nd All Manipur Shumang Leela Festival, organized by the Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA), Imphal, the play ‘Ningtambei Mahao’ staged by Sanaleipak Nachom Artists Association emerged as the biggest winner, securing 10 awards, including the coveted Best Production title.

According to the recommendations submitted by the five-member jury comprising K. Radhakumar Singh, L. Kishworjit Singh, S. Singhajit Sharma, Soibamcha Indrakumar and Y. Surendra, the results of the competition involving 13 male Shumang Leela groups from across Manipur were officially declared on Wednesday afternoon.

The award-winning production ‘Ningtambei Mahao’, which is based on issues currently confronting Manipur, dominated several major categories, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor in Comic Role, Second Best Playback Singer (Female Voice), Second Best Music Director, Best Script, Best Director and Best Production.
