Traffic Diversions Announced for Great Uprising/Unity Day Observance at Kekrupat

Traffic Police have announced diversions, parking arrangements and traffic regulations for the Great Uprising/Unity Day observance at Kekrupat on June 18.

Imphal, June 16: The Traffic Control Police Wing, Manipur, has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the observance of the Great Uprising/Unity Day at Kekrupat on June 18, announcing a series of traffic regulations, diversions and parking arrangements to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and public safety.

According to the advisory issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Traffic Control Police Wing, the traffic arrangements will remain in force from 5 am on June 18 until the conclusion of the function. Emergency service vehicles will be exempted from the restrictions.

Authorities have designated specific dropping points and parking areas for vehicles ferrying people attending the event.

Vehicles approaching from Mayai Lambi via Singjamei Chinga, the Thoubal side via Singjamei Bridge, and the Wangkhei side will be required to drop passengers at Hafiz Hatta Road. Such vehicles will be directed to park near the Palace Compound Ground.

Vehicles coming from Lamlong, Sekmai and Thangmeiband will drop passengers at Khonang Ani Karak and park around the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

Similarly, vehicles arriving from Uripok, Sagolband, Tiddim Road and Mayai Lambi will drop passengers at Khuyathong or Khonang Ani Karak before proceeding to parking spaces around the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

The advisory stated that there will be no traffic restrictions for the general public except in the vicinity of the function venue at Kekrupat, particularly along the stretch between North AOC Traffic Island, or LIC Crossing when required, and the eastern side of Minuthong.

Officials' vehicles and earmarked vehicles carrying the 18 victims will be allowed to pass through the restricted stretch.

To ease congestion around the venue, vehicles carrying attendees from the Thoubal side will be diverted at Singjamei Bridge. Vehicles approaching from the Singjamei Chingamakha–Heirangoithong Road will be diverted at Singjamei Chinga Crossing towards Singjamei Bridge and Pishumthong.

Meanwhile, vehicles coming from Tiddim Road and Mayai Lambi will be diverted at Keishampat Junction towards Wahengbam Leikai. Vehicles from Sagolband, Uripok and Thangmeiband will be diverted at Uripok Thongkha and Khuyathong Junction towards Nagamapal, Khuyathong, Lilasing Khonangkhong and Khonang Ani Karak.

The Traffic Control Police Wing has appealed to the public to cooperate with the arrangements to ensure the safe and successful conduct of the observance.
