AAI Announces Recruitment for 389 Posts

Imphal, July 25: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced a major recruitment drive for 389 Manager and Junior Executive posts across multiple disciplines, offering opportunities for engineering graduates, finance professionals, legal experts, communication specialists, statisticians and management graduates. The recruitment will be conducted through an online application process, with applications opening on August 8 and closing on September 7, 2026, followed by a Computer Based Test (CBT) and subsequent stages of selection.

According to Advertisement No. 12/2026/CHQ, the 389 vacancies are spread across various Group A and Group B positions, including Manager and Junior Executive posts in Corporate Planning and Management Services, Corporate Communications, Finance, Law, Airport Operations, Survey and Cartography, Fire Services and other specialised disciplines. The Airports Authority of India said the tentative date of the Computer Based Test will be announced later on its official website.

The recruitment comes as the Airports Authority of India continues to strengthen its professional workforce to support airport infrastructure, aviation services, planning, finance, legal affairs, communications and operational management across the country.

Opportunities across diverse disciplines

The notification includes vacancies for Manager-level positions requiring specialised educational qualifications and relevant work experience, as well as Junior Executive posts intended for eligible graduates and postgraduates.

Among the Manager posts, AAI is recruiting professionals in Corporate Planning and Management Services. Candidates must possess postgraduate qualifications in Mathematical Statistics, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Economics with Statistics or Mathematics with Statistics from a UGC-recognised university, along with at least three years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.

For the post of Manager (Corporate Communications), applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or Literature (Hindi or English), together with a postgraduate degree or two-year diploma in Journalism, Mass Media or Mass Communication. Candidates must also have three years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, media planning, branding, content creation, press relations, digital media management or event management.

The Junior Executive recruitment covers Finance, Law, Operations, and Survey & Cartography, with educational qualifications varying according to the discipline.

Finance applicants should possess an MBA or PGDM specialising in Finance, or qualifications such as Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst. Law candidates must hold a recognised professional law degree and be eligible for enrolment as an advocate with the Bar Council of India. Operations posts are open to science graduates with MBA qualifications or engineering graduates, while Survey & Cartography requires engineering or postgraduate qualifications in Geography, Remote Sensing, GIS, Geo-informatics or Geomatics. No prior work experience is required for these Junior Executive positions.

Eligibility and age criteria

AAI has fixed the upper age limit at 32 years for Manager posts and 27 years for Junior Executive posts as on September 7, 2026.

Relaxation in the upper age limit will be available in accordance with Government of India norms, including five years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, three years for Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), ten years for eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, and additional concessions for ex-servicemen and eligible serving AAI employees.

The notification also states that degrees obtained through recognised Open and Distance Learning programmes will be accepted, provided they meet UGC or AICTE norms wherever applicable. Professional law degrees must be recognised by the Bar Council of India.

Attractive salary package

Selected candidates will be placed under Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) pay scales.

Managers at the E-3 level will receive a pay scale of Rs.60,000–1,80,000, while Junior Executives at the E-1 level will be placed in the Rs.40,000–1,40,000 pay scale.

Apart from the basic salary, employees will be entitled to Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, perks amounting to 35 per cent of the basic pay, medical benefits, provident fund, gratuity and other social security benefits under AAI rules.

The authority estimates the annual Cost to Company (CTC) at approximately Rs.21 lakh for Managers and Rs.14 lakh for Junior Executives.

Computer-based examination

The selection process will begin with an objective-type Computer Based Test for all advertised posts. AAI has clarified that there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers in the CBT.

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their CBT performance will proceed to application verification and other stages depending on the post applied for. Manager-level posts generally include interviews, while some specialised positions involve additional tests.

For example, applicants for Manager (Fire Services) will also undergo Physical Measurement Tests, Driving Tests and Physical Endurance Tests covering activities such as running, casualty carrying, rope climbing and ladder climbing before appearing for interviews.

Candidates applying for Manager (Airport Operations) and Junior Executive (Airport Operations) must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle licence. Temporary or learner licences will not be accepted.

Applications only through online mode

AAI has stated that applications will be accepted only through the online portal available on its official website. Candidates may apply for multiple posts by completing separate registrations and paying the applicable fee for each post, provided they satisfy the eligibility criteria for each position.

Applicants have been advised to ensure that all information furnished during registration is accurate, as submission of false information, fabricated documents or suppression of material facts may result in cancellation of candidature at any stage of the recruitment process.

Reservation and document verification

The recruitment provides reservation benefits for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), Economically Weaker Sections, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and Ex-servicemen in accordance with Government of India guidelines.

Candidates claiming reservation benefits will be required to produce valid certificates issued by the competent authorities during application verification or interview. Separate requirements have also been prescribed for disability certificates, OBC (NCL) certificates, EWS certificates and work experience documents wherever applicable.

AAI has further stated that candidates selected through the recruitment process may be posted anywhere in India. Selection will remain provisional until verification of educational qualifications, experience, character and antecedents, medical fitness and other eligibility conditions.
