MitSna Foundation has launched a Mobile Library at Lamboikhongnangkhong Relief Camp in Manipur to promote reading habits and support children's education.
Imphal, July 5: MitSna Foundation, a registered non-profit organisation based in Manipur, on Sunday launched its Mobile Library initiative at the Lamboikhongnangkhong Relief Camp to encourage reading habits and provide a positive learning environment for children living in relief camps.
The initiative was inaugurated on July 5 by a team comprising six members and one intern of the Foundation in the presence of author Linthoi Chanu.
According to the Foundation, the Mobile Library aims to improve access to books and create opportunities for children displaced by the ethnic violence to continue engaging in educational and recreational activities.
During the programme, children were introduced to a collection of children's literature, storybooks and novels. The organisers also conducted storytelling sessions and interactive activities to encourage reading and participation.
In addition to the library activities, recreational events, including a football session, were organised for the children. Stationery items were also distributed to support their education and encourage regular learning.
MitSna Foundation said the initiative forms part of its efforts to foster a supportive and child-friendly environment in relief camps through education and community engagement.
The Foundation expressed gratitude to its donors, supporters and well-wishers whose contributions made the Mobile Library initiative possible.
