SAI NERC Imphal will conduct open selection trials for its National Centre of Excellence Archery Programme on July 14-15 for residential and non-residential athletes.
Imphal, July 9: The Sports Authority of India (SAI), North Eastern Regional Centre (NERC), Imphal, will conduct an Open Selection Trial for admission to its National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) Archery Programme on July 14 and 15, 2026, at the SAI NCOE Archery Range, Takyelpat, Imphal.
The two-day selection trial will be held for both Residential and Non-Residential categories with the aim of identifying talented archers for advanced training at the Centre of Excellence.
According to the announcement, reporting time for all participants is 7:00 a.m. on both days.
The trials are open to boys and girls in the Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior categories. Participants will compete in Recurve, Compound and Indian Round disciplines.
To be eligible, candidates must have represented in national-level archery competitions. Applicants are required to produce a Birth Certificate, Archery Association of India (AAI) Identity Card, Aadhaar Card, and National-level competition certificates during the selection process.
SAI stated that selected athletes will receive comprehensive training and support under the National Centre of Excellence programme. The facilities include access to quality archery equipment and gear, modern coaching, sports science support, medical facilities with insurance coverage, school fee reimbursement, and opportunities to participate in national and international competitions, including foreign exposure tours.
The authority has advised all candidates to bring their own archery equipment and gear on the day of the trial.
