Imphal, July 26: The Traffic Control Police Wing, Manipur has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the upcoming 135th Durand Cup football matches scheduled to be held at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium on July 28, July 30, August 3, August 5, August 9 and August 12, 2026. The advisory has been issued in view of the expected presence of VIPs, government dignitaries and large public gatherings during the matches.

According to the advisory, members of the public have been requested to strictly follow the designated traffic arrangements to ensure smooth vehicular movement and effective crowd management around the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

The Traffic Police has designated separate entry points for vehicles and pedestrians visiting the stadium.

Public vehicles intending to park inside the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex will be allowed to enter through Gate No. 2 (Indoor Stadium side) and Gate No. 5 (9th IRB Gate), subject to the availability of parking space.

Pedestrians, meanwhile, have been advised to use Gate No. 3 (Hockey Stadium Gate) and Gate No. 4 (Rugby Ground Gate) for entry into the venue.

Authorities have also clarified that the HUDCO Gate and Gate No. 1 (Western Gate) will remain restricted and are not to be used by the general public during the matches.

Parking inside the sports complex will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at designated locations near the Indoor Stadium and the Swimming Pool Junction–Kang Sang Point.

Once the internal parking areas reach capacity, additional parking will be available outside the complex at RAU Ground and the ISBT Campus.

The advisory cautions that once parking inside the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex is full, entry of vehicles into the campus will be restricted. Visitors have been asked to comply with directions issued by traffic personnel and parking staff.

To facilitate match-day security and crowd movement, the stretch of road from Pandon Crossing to MMTA Banyan Tree Crossing will remain closed to general traffic during match hours.

Traffic police also stated that if congestion develops, vehicles may be diverted from Minuthong Junction towards Lamlong Thong and Sanjenthong based on the prevailing traffic situation.

Heavy vehicles will either be restricted or diverted at Sangakpham Crossing, Lamlong Thong, Singjamei, Kwakeithel, Keishampat Junction, Uripok Canteen Crossing and Khonang Ani Karak, depending on operational requirements.

The advisory states that the gates of the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex will open at 1 pm on all match days. Spectators have been encouraged to arrive well in advance to avoid last-minute congestion and ensure smooth entry into the stadium.

The Traffic Police has also advised visitors to prefer walking or using two-wheelers wherever possible, as parking inside the complex is limited. Roadside parking has been prohibited, and illegally parked vehicles may be towed or penalised.

Members of the public have further been requested to follow instructions issued by traffic personnel and cooperate with security and parking staff to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the Durand Cup fixtures in Imphal.
