Welcome to Manipur, the Land of Official Peace, where every press release is louder than the gunfire, and every assurance is emptier than the relief camps.
The Ministry of Peaceful Promises declares daily: “Normalcy has returned!” — while highways remain blocked and families remain displaced. Apparently, “normalcy” now means living behind barricades.
The Department of Demographic Concerns assures that the NRC will be updated. But when? No one knows. But confusion is the new governance model, so clarity is unnecessary.
The Commission for Hollow Assurances proudly reports: “Dialogue is ongoing.” Translation: meetings are held, minutes are written, and nothing changes.
Displaced citizens are told: “Rehabilitation is our priority.” Yet rehabilitation seems to mean permanent exile, with tents as the new definition of home.
Ethnic conflict is explained away as “minor disturbances,” because apparently, burning villages and fractured communities are just routine inconveniences.
And the grand finale: the Confused Orchestra of Governance plays its anthem — “Peace, Peace, Peace” — so often that even the word itself has lost meaning.
In this Republic of Confusion, the government doesn’t resolve crises; it narrates them. And the people, caught between promises and reality, are left to wonder: is confusion the policy, or simply the excuse?
